At SaskElkana Large Munsterlanders
(LMs), our dogs are not only talented hunting companions, but are also gentle family friends. LMs offer the hunting
dog owner the best of both worlds - a bird maniac in the field, and a house dog you can live with the rest of the year.

The Large Munsterlander is a continental versatile hunting dog breed. As a versatile breed they are as at home retrieving
waterfowl as they are pointing grouse on the prairie or tracking pheasants on the run. First brought to North America
by Kurt von Kleist in 1966, the breed has become increasingly popular, and as of August 2003 1039 puppies have been registered
on this continent. LMs have been bred for hunting and temperament rather than show, and as a result coat colour is
variable, ranging from predominately white to predominately black, and everything in between. Besides their strong
abilities in the field, they are also calm, gentle with children and well adjusted to living in the house. For more
detailed information about the Large Munsterlander breed, please visit The Large Munsterlander Club of North America® website.
